ROSEMONT — Keystone College’s men’s tennis team posted its first victory of the season on April 19 with a 6-3 win at Rosemont College in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) finale for both teams.

The Giants lifted their record to 1-9 overall and 1-6 in conference play while the Ravens ended their season 0-12 overall and 0-7 in the CSAC.

Robert Azzarelli, John Masten and Jordan Joyce posted a pair of victories to lead Keystone to the win.

Rosemont was spotted a point with a default win at No. 3 doubles, but the Giants won the two contested doubles contests. Azzarelli and Masten defeated Vito DiSanti and James Finney, 8-0, at the top flight while Joyce and Falls native Dan Greenip downed Luis Castillo and Cavit Ula, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles.

The Ravens got their second point of the day at No. 6 singles by default, but the Giants won four out of five matches – all in straight sets – in singles competition. Azzarelli topped DiSanti at the top flight, Masten bested Dan Suarez at #2 singles, Joyce dropped Derrick Cline and No. 3 singles, and Valinski won over Chris Morgan at No. 5 singles. Luca DiFranco gave Rosemont their only victory in singles play by defeating Greenip at the fourth flight, 6-1, 6-3.

Keystone will close out the season at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28 with a non-conference match at Misericordia University in Dallas Township.
