Ah, the sweet air of spring. It feels and smells so good!

This month, our Friends of the Dalton Community Library group is hosting their seventh annual Herb and Perennial Sale. It will be held from 9 a.m until noon Saturday, May 14 at the Dalton Fire Hall. Each year, this event gets more popular than the last and is such a friendly atmosphere. So, come one, come all! It is also the day of the “mile long yard sale,” which means Dalton will have plenty to offer. A special request made by the group is for donations of garden magazines or gardening books. If anyone can donate these items, it would be appreciated.

With the end of school coming quickly, keep in mind that the Dalton Community Library has many children’s activities during the summer. Our free opening event for kids will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 21. For more information about summer events and activities, stop in the library or email JFamiletti@albright.org. Along with these fun activities comes the Summer Reading Program, which is for all ages. It’s very easy to participate in. Just stop in to register during the week of June 13 and receive dates for all activities along with details for the Summer Reading Program, which will run until August. It’s that simple, and so enjoyable for the kids. Can’t wait to see everyone!

Last, but not least, everyone at our library would like to thank those who donated their time, books, and baked goods for last month’s Book and Bake Sale. Our sales were extremely successful, especially our bake sale. We’d like to thank the following businesses for their generous donations for our bake sale: Beta Bread Bakery and Deli, Clarks Summit Senior Living, Royal Buffet and Starbucks. Also, thank you to all those who stopped in to shop. Without all of you, we couldn’t have had such a successful sale. Every penny earned will be used to benefit the library and it’s programs.
