Chinese New Year party planned for Feb. 28
February reminds us that it’s time for getting rid of the old, to welcome Spring and enjoy longer days if you are in the Northern part of the world. It is also the only month of the year that can pass without a single full moon. And it’s National Book Lover’s month. So stop by Dalton Community Library and peruse our February displays on award-winning children’s books or find yourself a best seller to sink your teeth into!
The Lackawanna County Library System welcomes all patrons to participate in our annual all-ages Winter Reading Challenge, which will run from Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 28. This year’s challenge, “Birds of a Feather Read Together,” is presented as a part of Lackawanna County’s Shelter for All program and is co-sponsored by Lackawanna County Arts & Culture’s ARTS Engage initiative.
Children, teens and adults can flock to the library to enjoy the many resources, services, and programs all nine Lackawanna County Libraries offer to the public. Our Librarians have prepared events, activities and displays that encourage readers to look to the skies to discover plenty of new stories, online resources and enriching events during the challenge.
Patrons may visit any library during the challenge for BINGO-style activity log that they can complete through February.
In addition, a Chinese New Year celebration party is going to be held on the 28th. Please call for details. Registration will be required.
