Filmed at National Theatre Live in London, Shakespeare’s comedy “Much Ado About Nothing” is coming to the Dietrich Theater’s big screen at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m. and at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15.
Leading the cast are Katherine Parkson, of “The IT Crowd,” and John Hefferman, of “Dracula.”
This famous romcom of sun, sea and mistaken identity takes place at the legendary family-run Hotel Messina on the Italian Riveria, which has been visited by artists, celebrities and royalty. But when the owner’s daughter weds a dashing young soldier, not all guests are in the mood for love. A string of scandalous deceptions soon surround not only the young couple, but also the adamantly single Beatrice and Benedick.
Following his award-winning productions of “Romeo & Juliet,” “Twelfth Night” and “Antony and Cleopatra,” director Simon Godwin returns with this fresh take on one of William Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies.
Tickets are available at the Dietrich Theater’s ticket booth, by calling 570-836-1022×3 or at DietrichThetaer.com. General admission is $14, senior/member tickets are $12 each and student/child tickets are $10 each.
