Abington Heights won its 11th Lackawanna League boys tennis title in 13 seasons and the Comets made it look easy.

The Comets went 13-0 for the second straight season, taking 64 of the possible 65 team points in the process.

After a 4-1 win over Western Wayne in the season’s second match, Abington Heights won the last 11 by 5-0 scores.

The Comets went 13-0 at No. 2 and No. 3 singles and both doubles positions.

Using the lineup that produced most of those points, Abington Heights made quick work of the April 27 regular-season finale against West Scranton to take the title over second-place Holy Cross, which had its best season ever, finishing 12-1.

Luke Morgan and Liam Farrell won, 6-0, 6-0, at first doubles against West Scranton.

Sam Christman and Domenic Peters each lost only one game while winning at second and third singles.

First singles player Praneel Mallaiah won, 6-0, 6-2.

Manan Pancholy-Mike Klamp won, 6-2, 6-1, at second doubles.

Abington Heights essentially went unchallenged.

The Comets clinched at least a tie for the title with a 5-0 win over Valley View (11-3) in the next-to-last match.

It won at Holy Cross and at home against rival Scranton Prep early in the April by the same score.

Scranton Prep finished 10-3 in the league.
