CLARKS GREEN – Cub Scouts Pack 251 had its Blue and Gold Banquet, and Troop 251 had its Court of Honor at Clarks Green United Methodist Church on June 1. Welcoming remarks by scoutmaster Chris Kane kicked off the ceremonies.

“We are extremely proud with everything you scouts have done and accomplished in recent months,” he said.

Josephine Hricko, who transitioned from Wolf scout to Bear Scout, received many patches such as Air of the Wolf, Duty to God Footsteps, Paws on the Path, and Running with the Pack to name a few. Sarina Starzer was promoted from a Bear Scout to a Webelo. During her time as a Bear Scout, she earned patches including Baloo the Builder, Bear Picnic Basket, Fellowship and Duty to God, Salmon Run, and more. Josephine and Sarina both crossed the ceremonial bridge and were given their neckerchief for the new levels by Allison Green, of Pack 251.

During the court of honor, Scouts Zachary Walters, Liam Tierney and William Regan recalled their First Aid meet at Wilkes University, in which they earned First Aid merit badges in a program with pharmacy students.

Other merit badges earned by Scouts include Citizenship in Society by Jackson Ashworth, Sean Farrell, Ray Mozdian, William Regan, Liam Tierney, and Zachary Walters’ personal management by Mozdian; cooking by Regan.

The Scouts will have a summer filled with activities for both the pack and the Scouts. For the pack, on June 10-11 and 17-18, they will have a Parent & Pal Weekend at Goose Pond Scout Reservation in Lake Ariel. On June 25, they will have an event called Birds of Prey Recruitment. For this event, the Delaware Valley Raptor Center will visit the Clark Green United Methodist Church to do a presentation to help Scouts identify birds of prey and other native species. From July 31 to Aug. 4, there will be a day camp at Covington Park.

For the Scouts, there will be Scout Night with the Railriders on June 9, in which the Scouts will watch a game and camp overnight in the field. On June 10, there will be a program called Operation Cast Iron 2.0, in which they will clean and season Dutch ovens to get them ready for summer camp from July 2 to 8.
