At its annual meeting on June 5, the Waverly Community House introduced three new trustees to its board of trustees: Sharon Borgia, Bill Chickillo and Greg Rosetti. The newly appointed trustees replace outgoing board members Lou Houck, David Hubble and Ryan Ward.
Sharon Borgia has more than 30 years of banking experience and is a Senior Vice President/Senior Commercial Loan Officer with Peoples Security Bank and Trust Company. Prior to joining Peoples in 2010, she worked at Community Bank and Trust Co. and PNC Bank. Sharon received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Penn State University and a Master of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from the University of Scranton.
She has a long history of community service at The Comm and is an active program participant. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for United Neighborhood Community Development Corporation and the Lackawanna Blind Association. Sharon lives in Clarks Summit with her husband Gary and daughter Mikayla.
William Chickillo returns to the board following an eight-year hiatus, during which time he played a major role on The Comm’s F. Lammot Belin Arts Foundation Scholarship Committee and served as a consultant on building aesthetics and the management of The Waverly Small Works Gallery. He will continue to serve in all those capacities as Board Trustee.
Bill is a plein-air painter and colorist and the 1973 recipient of the F. Lammot Belin Arts Scholarship. He holds an MFA from Maryland Institute of Art and is the owner of Skylake Gallery in Fleetville. Bill lives in Dalton with his wife Lauri and two children, Beck and Kate.
Greg Rosetti is a 2000 graduate of Scranton High School who received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Saint Joseph’s University in 2004. Greg has worked in financial services and insurance for 19 years. He was a bond and credit trader at GFI Securities LLC in New York City before returning to Scranton in 2014 where he took a role with Cigna Corporation managing their HAS Banking Program until 2019.
Greg is currently a Wealth Management Advisor for Merrill Lynch in their Scranton office where he specializes in Investment Management and Financial Planning. His involvement in community activities includes The Bob Woodruff Foundation, Stand Up for Heroes, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Girls on the Run. He currently serves on the Board of The Geisinger Marworth Advisory Council. Greg resides in Glenburn with his wife Brook and two boys, Daniel and Christopher.
Every year the Executive Committee has the pleasure of selecting someone for the much-coveted Volunteer of the Year Award. This award is bestowed on an individual who best exemplifies the tradition of service and excellence that is The Comm.
This year’s Volunteer of the Year is Desiree Zielinski, a driving force behind the NEPA Film Festival. Desiree has served on the committee since its inception in 2015. A graphic designer with a commitment to film and the arts, she juggled full-time jobs while assisting with and then managing the Mystery Box Film Challenge, a signature feature of the film festival. Her outstanding social media campaign was a tremendous contribution to the success of the 2023 festival.
