The Dog Days of Summer are upon us.
Hope you have been able to take some time to enjoy the sunny days and warm temperatures.
If the humidity gets too high for you, come to the library! You can find a comfortable chair and nice quiet air-conditioned room and relax.
The Lackawanna County Library System Summer Reading Program, “All Together Now” has been a great success. We have enjoyed seeing many new faces visit our library due to the Traveling Passport program.
July has been an especially active month with interesting programs for all ages of children. Colorful Chameleons, Let’s Sing All Together Now, Explore Reptile Predators and Mini Master Pieces are a few of the programs we have offered. We have 2 more weeks loaded with activities; such as a Children’s Coding program and a visit from Everhart Museum. Our Young Adult group will also be meeting the first 2 weeks of August with various challenging mind-expanding games, Chinese Checkers and Chess. Summer Reading will be coming to a close on 8/12.
Our Adult Bridge group has been meeting most of the Summer, and we are happy to welcome new members. Please feel free to stop in and join us, as we meet every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon.
Plans for the Fall Kids’ Time and Young Adults programs are in the works. Please keep an eye on the Abington Journal and/or Dalton Facebook and/or Lackawanna County Library System Facebook for more details in September.
Saturday Spotlight will start up at the end of September. Our next discussion group will be meeting on Sept. 30. We will be discussing “The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell’ by Robert Dugoni. You are welcome to peruse our collection. Our library hours are 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, or 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your Summer!
