Gifford Pinchot: The People’s Governor

More than a forester, Gifford Pinchot served two terms as governor of Pennsylvania, from 1923 to 1927 and 1931 to 1935. These eight years during dynamic periods of history displayed Gifford as a forward-thinking leader, ahead of his times in many ways. During this program, author Gary Ryman will share how Governor Pinchot’s two four year stints in elective office were only a small part of this ambitious man’s sometimes quixotic political quest. Ryman will also touch on Cornelia Bryce Pinchot’s significant role in Gifford’s life and political success. One day, Frank and Faye learn that a property developer wants them to sell the apartment. When they refuse, their diner is vandalized. However, Frank, Faye and their tenants are aided by mysterious flying saucers, which help them repair the diner and fight back.

Holiday Earrings Workshop

In this earring workshop the participants can pick from a multitude of holiday-themed designs to make their own earrings; up to four pairs. The material and equipment will be provided. The instructor will demonstrate how to make a simple loop and the participants can practice on empty headpins before making the holiday earrings. The earring designs are mostly for Christmas and include snowmen, nutcrackers, Christmas trees, and many more. Charms will also be available for other holidays rather than Christmas. Red, white and blue beads will be available for USA holidays.
