Spring is right around the corner, and we are looking for signs of it every day.
As the days get longer, we reflect on the past winter and hope it is an early Spring as the groundhog has predicted this year.
We have just finished up with our Winter Reading Challenge and new activities will be starting up in March. Dalton Community Library observed Chinese Lunar New Year in February with a special program highlighting the tradition and activities of this holiday.
The New Year festivities entail 15 days of preparation and 15 days of celebration. The program was well attended by children and as we as adults and enjoyed by all.
On Thursday, March 21, Dalton Community Library’s 8- week Spring Kids Time and Young Adults programming will begin. For more information about the programs please call the library.
Dalton Community Library’s Spring Book and Bake Sale will be upon us before we know it. We will be accepting donations until April 1st. Our sale will be on Saturday, April 21, from noon to 2. Please keep us in mind if there are any books that you would like to donate.
Our next Saturday Spotlight will be meeting on March 24 from 10:30 to noon. We will be reading “Mad Honey” by Jodie Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan. Please join us for some interesting, educational and rewarding discussions at our next meeting.
Our DCL Bridge Group meets religiously every Tuesday, 10 to noon. Please feel free to join us as we encourage new players to join us. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a pro.
We will be having our Spring flower fundraiser and will be taking orders in early April. The flowers will supplied by Beichler’s Greenhouse and be available for pick up sometime the week before Mother’s day. Please keep an eye out for special after school programs that may be coming to our library in the next few months.
Safe travels if you are going out of town and think Spring.
