It’s that time of year again. The weather gets a little crisper. The night time comes a little sooner. The season of autumn is here. Pumpkins become popular again.

Clarks Summit United Methodist Church is vending these fall fruits in its parking lot now until the end of October. Proceeds will be going to the Appalachian Service Project, in which students go on mission trips to somewhere in the Appalachian Mountains, mostly West Virginia. The trip for next year will be from the end of June through the beginning of July. The actual location of the trip is to be determined.

Halloween is around the corner. Churches and schools in the Abington area will give kids the option to get candy from the trunks of church members’ vehicles.

Clarks Summit UMC will have a trunk or treat on Sunday, October 20 from 6pm to 8pm.

Countryside Community Community Church will have its trunk or treat on Saturday, October 19 from 2pm to 4pm.

Hillside Haven Community Church will be decorating their cars for its annual Trunk or Treat, which will be on Halloween night (October 31) from 630pm to 8pm. LCBC in Clarks Summit will be having its trunk or treat on October 23.

Local schools will be hosting trunks or treats as well.

Newton Ransom Elementary will be having the Smash Hut food truck, cake pops, and a best decorated trunk competition in its parking lot during the upcoming trunk or treat on Friday, October 18 from 630pm to 8pm.

There you have it — the seasons of fall and Halloween are in full swing with seasonal events.

Happy autumn!
