Welcome, Autumn!

It’s that time of the year to enjoy the warm days and cool nights. Time to get back into the swing of school schedules and reconnect with old friends and make new ones.

September is also National Library Card Sign-up Month at Dalton Community Library and all Lackawanna Libraries. Take advantage of all the resources we have to offer. It may be small but a library card has endless possibilities. Borrow books, DVD’s, CD’s, museum passes, free streaming for movies and TV. Access technology, Wi-Fi and career resources to support your goals whether it be at school, your job or just for your own interests. Utilize all that we have to offer!

Our Kids’ Time and Young Adult six-week fall programming will begin the last Thursday of September and run until the first week of November. Kids’ Time will begin at 4 p.m. and directly after that the Young Adults will meet at 5 p.m. continuing with mind expanding games, Chess and Chinese Checkers. Please watch our Dalton Facebook and the LCLS Calendar for upcoming info on specific activities. You can also call the library at 570-563-2014 with questions as the end of September gets closer.

Our Young Adult programming in August participated in the Mini-Masterpiece activity. The completed masterpieces will be on display at the Everhart Museum in September.

Saturday Spotlight will meet on Sept. 27 from 10:30 to noon. We will be discussing Stephen King’s “11/23/63.”

The Tuesday Bridge group meets every Tuesday, 10 a.m. to noon. Please stop in if you are interested, as we welcome new players to join.

On Saturday, Sept. 20, Dalton Community Library will participate in the Dalton Farm to Family Fest at Steamside Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is an educational and community event for all ages.

Our Fall Book and Bake Sale will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, from noon to 2 p.m. Think of us if you have any books that you would like to donate. No donations will be accepted after Oct. 1, as we need time to get ready for the sale.

Have a safe and delightful end to your summer!
