Registration is open for the 2025 Festival of Trees.

The annual holiday display conducted by the Lackawanna County Department of Arts and Culture features more than two dozen live Christmas trees decorated by civic organizations, schools, businesses, and individuals to brighten the square for the holidays and raise funds for the annual Toys for Tots drive conducted by the Marine Corps League. The display will be in the Piazza dell’ Arte on the Biden Street side of Courthouse Square.

This year’s theme is “Red, White & You!”, celebrating freedom, unity, and diversity. The event is in conjunction with the America250 PA observance of the impending 250th anniversary of the nation’s independence.

Opening day for the festival is Dec. 5, in conjunction with the beginning of the

three-day Winter Market on Courthouse Square. The displays will remain in place until Friday, Jan. 9.

The cost to participate is $25. Trees are provided but participants must supply all decorations and outdoor LED lights. Decorations must be weatherproof.
