Hooray for the month of July! I’m sure this month will be worth the wait.

It’s been a busy summer so far and very enjoyable. The Summer Reading Program is off to a great start with many kids enrolled and reading. The children are very proud to log the books they read or listen to, and their faces light up when receiving their fantastic prizes, such as free McDonald’s Happy Meals, bowling coupons and even a free ticket to attend a RailRiders game. The program is a wonderful way to encourage kids of all ages to take the time to enjoy a book.

The summer activities are fun, too, with a great variety for all kids. To quickly review the activities offered at the Dalton Community Library: We have two book clubs, yoga, art, an App group and our own “Kids Crew” which is full of popular activities that change weekly.

There’s still time to register for the reading program and some activities. Stop in, email JFamiletti@albright.org or call 570-563-2014.

To recap some of our adult groups, we offer Mahjong at 10 a.m. Monday and Thursday mornings, Bridge games at 10 a.m. Tuesday, two monthly book clubs, memoir writing, a monthly knitting group, and Casual Chat at 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoons.
