It’s hard to believe we’re beginning the month of November. Time is surely passing quickly. The fall weather has settled in and plans for the Thanksgiving holiday season are underway.

Things here at the Dalton Community Library have been busy as well. Our fall book and bake sale was a great success and a lot of fun. It was so nice to see many friendly faces supporting the library. We appreciate everyone’s generosity. We never take for granted the patrons and volunteers who make these sales a tremendous accomplishment for our library. A big thank you to everyone who organized the sale, baked goodies, donated books or stopped by to browse. It is through these combined efforts that we had such a great turnout. The next book sale will be in April 2017.

Our young and school-age children’s programs are going very well each week. Our story time program has been focusing on colors, letters and numbers. The children enjoy doing crafts and sharing time together while having fun. We invite new children to join us at 11 a.m. Tuesdays. Call us for the story time schedule for this month, if you are interested, at 570-563-2014 or email me at JFamiletti@albright.org for more information.

The Kid’s Crew group that meets after school on Tuesdays has also been going strong. We enjoy a variety of activities, including games, playing cards, doing card tricks and building. The busy minds of these school age kids come together during Kid’s Crew and the fun and exploring of ideas overflow. Again, call us for this month’s schedule for Kid’s Crew or email me.

Our adult clubs have been meeting routinely. Majong, Bridge, Casual Chat and book clubs are all meeting at their scheduled times. See our online schedule of events at lclshome.org/Dalton. This month, the book, “The Rosie Project,” by Graeme Simsion will be discussed during our Saturday Spotlight group at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 19.

All of us at the Dalton Community Library want to encourage everyone to go out and vote. Keep in mind the library will be closed on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Have a great November and Happy Thanksgiving! See you at the Dalton Community Library!
