CLARKS SUMMIT — A new workshop series called Guiding Good Choices will be offered at the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit to help parents learn how to strengthen bonds with their children and reduce the risk of their children using drugs.

The five-session program will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evenings beginning Nov. 10. The program is presented by the Employment Opportunity and Training Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania (EOTC) in collaboration with Lackawanna/Susquehanna Office of Drug and Alcohol Programs and The Gathering Place. The program is provided free of charge to the community. Light refreshments will be served.

To pre-register, call Emily MacDonald at 570-558-7568.

Guiding Good Choices is an interactive program for all parents of children ages 9-14. In a lively and open atmosphere, parents will learn specific strategies to help their children avoid drug use and other adolescent problem behaviors, and to develop into healthy adults. Parents will learn to set clear family guidelines on drugs, practice skills to strengthen family bonds, help their children develop healthy behaviors, and increase children’s involvement in the community.
