SCRANTON — A unique preview party will give guests an opportunity to get a sneak peek at lavish table designs and first dibs on silent auction items for the Lackawanna Historical Society’s Dinner by Design event.

The Progressive Preview Party will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, March 3, starting at the Scranton Cultural Center with live music, open bar and hors d’oeuvres and then proceeding to POSH at The Scranton Club for desserts and coffee. Tickets are $75 per person.

The honorary co-chairs for the party are Brenda Bistocchi, Evie Rafalko McNulty and Grace Doherty Hillebrand.

Dinner by Design will continue Saturday and Sunday, March 4 and 5, with designers presenting unique and innovative table designs and event spaces at the Scranton Cultural Center and POSH. The society is welcoming back some favorite designers and introducing new faces, including POSH, the Everhart Museum of Natural History, Science and Art, Harvest Catering and Events, MCR Productions, the Scranton Cultural Center, John Mackey Designs and last year’s People’s Choice winner Central Park Flowers.

The weekend Marketplace will feature food and dining-themed gifts, including baklava, challah bread and iGourmet.

Guests can tour the designs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 4 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 5. Tickets are $15 per person.
