CLARKS SUMMIT — Members of borough council appointed Atty. Kevin Hayes, of Doherty Hayes, LLC in Scranton, as the borough’s new solicitor during a work session meeting Aug. 30.
Atty. Patrick Rogan, who served in the position for seven years, resigned effective Aug. 31.
During a regular meeting Sept. 6, members of the council voted to purchase a 1994 Crafco tar buggy from Fox Chapel Borough for $12,000. They also voted to sell a Department of Public Works (DPW) truck to Bridgitte Baum, Global Trucks for $8,250.50
The borough is currently seeking a part-time treasurer. Applicants must be fluent in QuickBooks and fund accounting experience is a plus. Hours are Monday through Friday, but flexible. The Sept. 6 meeting was recessed and will resume prior to the work session scheduled for Sept. 27 in order for members of the council to discuss, and possibly vote on, a heart and lung policy.
