Anthracite Opera Company to present ‘Here’s to Love!’ Nov. 5 in Scranton

SCRANTON — The Anthracite Opera Company will present “Here’s to Love!”, a show featuring classic love melodies from Opera to Broadway, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1000 Taylor Ave.

The musical performance is directed by Anthracite founder, Gary Richards.

The singers include professionals: Ann Marie Dippre, Barbara Nowicki and Liz Growhowski, all three of Scranton; Jan Clairmont, of New Castle, Del.; Eric Sparks, of Stroudsburg; and Gary Richards, of Moscow.

Other talents include: Jack Bernesky, Dennis Fanucci, Jillian Kemmerer, Leeann Lemperie, Don McKean, Matthew Merolla, Shiela O’Brien, Cathy Rist Strauch, and Abigail Zieger. There will be a poetry reading by Don Thomas. Marty Ort is accompanist.

Admission is $15, payable at the door.

A dinner is also planned for after the show at 6 p.m. at the Rossetti Estate for the Arts, 1005 Vine St. The cost for dinner and show is $30. Seating is limited and reservations are required for dinner.
