The Gathering Place to offer Memory Café, beginning Nov. 10

-

CLARKS SUMMIT — The Gathering Place for Community, Arts and Education, 304 S. State St., will offer a Memory Café for people with early stage Alzheimer’s disease or people concerned they are experiencing memory loss and their caregivers.

The Memory Café is a place where people with memory loss and their care companions can share a cup of coffee and socialize with others. They can explore art and music, play games or just enjoy being with others. Memory loss is an isolating condition, and the Memory Café is designed to provide social opportunities.

The group is partnering with students from The University of Scranton Occupational Therapy Graduate Program and the Alzheimer’s Association, and will meet the second Friday of each month. The first meeting is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 10 at The Gathering Place.

To sign up or for more information, call Paula at 570-575-0384 or Anne at 570-881-7612 or send an email to gatheringplacecs@gmail.com.
