CLARKS SUMMIT — The Wally Gordon Community Singers will present their Christmas concert, “Christmas is in the Air,” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at Clarks Summit United Methodist Church (CSUMC). Admission is free, although a free-will offering will be collected.

The concert will also feature the CSUMC Celestial and Chapel choirs. The choir will host a reception in the Fellowship Hall immediately after the concert.

The Singers are named for founder Wallace E. Gordon, a Scranton native.

Gordon was an important contributor to local choral music from the 1940s through the 1980s. His vision for the Wally Gordon Community Singers was to create a group that would allow anyone who loves choral music to participate. The group does not require audition or the ability to read music and is open to all singers 14 years or older.

More information about the group can be found online at wallygordoncommunitysingers.com.
