Susquehanna County Career and Technology Center house project nears completion

SPRINGVILLE — Students who are enrolled in the Carpentry and Cabinetmaking and Electrical, Plumbing and Heating programs at the Susquehanna County Career and Technology Center (SCCTC) are putting their classroom knowledge to use in real-world applications.

Students scheduled to finish in 2017 their fourth house on Hunsinger Road in Dimock Township. The house is 2100 square feet with three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. It features a stone and vinyl exterior and a two-car garage.

The students are involved in every aspect of building the house from planning and design to final sale.

Upon completion, the house will be listed for sale.

Students from seven area high schools attend the SCCTC. Sending schools include Blue Ridge, Elk Lake, Lackawanna Trail, Montrose Area, Mountain View, Susquehanna Community and Tunkhannock Area high schools. The programs are available to both high school students and adult learners.
