TUNKHANNOCK — The Dietrich Theater is featuring a retrospective exhibit of paintings by Rachel Caudell, of Mehoopany.

Caudell began her art classes under the guidance of Dietrich Theater artists-in-residence Amy and Steve Colley when she was a young child. Several art teachers have recognized and encouraged her talents along the way and she has won many awards over the years. Now her works have filled the Sherwood Gallery at the Dietrich Theater.

The Dietrich invites everyone to a closing reception at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7 to meet the artist and enjoy her paintings, many of which are for sale.

Caudell’s list of accomplishments includes Best of Show in Rossetti Juried Art Show, grades 9 through 12; 2017 WVIA Artist of the Year; 2017 Congressional Art Award winner for the PA 11th District, on display in the U.S. Capitol Building.

She is a 2017 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School, currently studying Applied Digital Arts with a concentration in Game Design at Kutztown University. Her dream is to design art for computer games and work for Nintendo.
