SCRANTON — Actors Circle will continue its 36th season in 2018 with “Sherlock Holmes and The Curse of the Sign of Four or The Mark of the Timber Toe,” a Victorian melodrama by Dennis Rosa, from Jan. 25 through 28 and Feb. 1 through 4.
Based on the novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and directed by Lou Bisignani, the show will be presented at Providence Playhouse, 1256 Providence Road. Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8 p.m. and Sunday performances at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors and $8 for students, with admission to the Thursday, Jan. 25 opening discounted at $8 for general and seniors and $6 for students.

Sherlock fans everywhere will be familiar with this classic tale of stolen treasure and murder, in which Sherlock and Watson are pitted for the first time against the diabolic Professor Moriarty. At stake are the safety and fortune of the lovely Mary Morstan, whose late father has intended her to share in the riches of the long-lost Agra Treasure.
