FACTORYVILLE — The gym at the Lackawanna Trail Elementary Center was a wave of red, white and blue as the students, faculty, staff and visitors arrived for the school’s 14th annual Veterans Day program.

The school’s administration and staff members shared their personal connections to the military via a slideshow presentation of photos of their loved ones who are serving or served.

Thirty-one students whose parents are serving or served in the military stood to be honored by their peers, teachers and veterans. The students were also asked to each bring in a photo of an important veteran in their life, and during the song “I’m Proud to be an American,” they waved the photos in the air.

The program ended with the song “Thank You Soldiers,” sung by the students to the veterans.
