Leadership Lackawanna Core Program Class 2018 launches Inaugural Scranton Founder’s Day

SCRANTON — The Leadership Lackawanna Core Program Class of 2018, in conjunction with Lackawanna Heritage Valley, is planning an Inaugural Scranton Founder’s Day from noon to 4 p.m. for April 28 at the Scranton Half Marathon Pavilion at Olive Street Trailhead.

The four-hour event will be a walk through the history of Scranton, from its humble beginnings as Slocum Hollow to its triumphant growth into the Electric City.

The day will be filled with family-friendly activities that are both fun and educational. These will include historically relevant games, music and reenactors. Admission to the event will be free to the public. Food will be available for purchase from on-site vendors. The event aims to foster a sense of community pride and appreciation for the history of Scranton and the surrounding areas.
