Abington-area students earn scholarships at Alvernia University

READING — Allison Decker, of Dalton, a student at Lackawanna Trail High School, has been granted the Presidential Scholarship to study Nursing at Alvernia University in the fall. Tyler Lesjack, of Clarks Summit, a student at Abington Heights High School, has been granted the Veronica Founder’s Scholarship to study Management at Alvernia in the fall.

Applicants for Alvernia’s $18,000 Presidential Scholarship must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and minimum SAT score of 1130 on the old test/1200 on the new one (or 25 ACT). The university’s $16,000 Veronica Founder’s Scholarship requires applicants to have minimum GPA of 3.0 and minimum SAT score of 980 old/1060 new (21 ACT).
