Keystone College to host release of children’s book penned by local authors

LA PLUME — Keystone College Press will host a reception celebrating the release of the new children’s book, “Springtime Birds in My Backyard” at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20 in Evans Hall in Hibbard Campus Center.

The reception is free of charge and open to the public. Parents are invited to bring their children.

Karen Yarrish, of Dallas, authored the story and David Porter, of Clarks Summit, was the illustrator. Both are professors at Keystone College in La Plume. Yarrish is a business professor and faculty coordinator for adult and online learning and Porter is a professor of fine arts.

“Springtime Birds in My Backyard” uses rhythm and rhyme to describe the sights and sounds of commonly found birds in North America.
