Dress for Success drive: Libraries throughout the Lackawanna County Library System are collecting purses and accessories for Dress for Success Lackawanna. Items should be dropped off no later than Monday, April 30.

NAMI Mental Health Support Group, 6 to 7:30 p.m. the last Tuesday of each month at the Wyoming County Special Needs Association (the log cabin building), 636 Route 29 North, Tunkhannock. Open to people with mental health issues, as well as family members and caregivers.

BUS TRIPS

Bus trip to Sight and Sound Theatre to see ‘Jesus’ production, May 15. Sponsored by The Little Sisters of the Poor. The bus will leave at 7:30 a.m. from Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton, and return to the residence at 7 p.m. Cost: $105 (includes transportation via a video bus with an on-board restroom, light refreshments served on the bus, and a balcony section ticket). All guests must be able to walk from the parking lot to the theatre. Guests may use a walker to enter the theatre, however walkers are not permitted on the elevator to the balcony area. They will need to be checked at the door. Canes are permitted. Following the show, guests will stop for lunch at a nearby restaurant. Springtime bus trip to New York City, May 19. Sponsored by Scranton’s St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Summit Christian Academy open house, 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. April 12. At this fundraiser for the Dietrich Theater’s children’s programs, kids can climb up into trucks, beeping the horn and learning what they do. First 100 kids get a free builder or fireman hat. The Friends of the Abington Community Library Spring Book Sale, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 8 at the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, 1310 Morgan Highway. The sale will include about 10,000 ‘like new’ and used books of all types for all ages, as well as DVDs, CDs and talking books, with nothing over $2. Friends members in good standing only are invited to attend a preview sale from 5 to 8 p.m. April 7. Memberships are available that night for $10 per individual or $15 per family. Global Warming: The Science and Impacts on Pennsylvania Fish and Wildlife, 7 to 8 p.m. April 12 at the Lackawanna State Park. Ed Perry, retired US Fish and Wildlife Service aquatic biologist, now National Wildlife Federation Global Warming Campaign representative, is traveling around Pennsylvania to educate fellow hunters, anglers and the conservation community to take action on global warming. A Women’s Health Event: Healthy Hormones at Any Age, 7 to 8 p.m. May 3 at Ramada Inn, 820 Northern Blvd., South Abington Township. Anxiety Disorder Screening Day, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 5 in the McGowan Center for Graduate and Professional Studies at Marywood University. The university’s Psychological Services Center will offer free, confidential anxiety screenings, open to the public and to all ages. They will include an educational presentation and written self-test, a private meeting with a mental health professional and, if appropriate, a referral.
