WAVERLY — The Waverly Community House will offer an opportunity for children to have fun and make new friends at Comm Camp – seven weeks of recreation, friendship and learning.

The camp begins June 25 and continues through Aug.10. Campers are grouped by age and activities are planned accordingly. Each week’s activities will revolve around a new theme. This year’s themes are Comic Books, Red, White & Blue, Comm Camp Olympics, Circus, We Love Our Animals, Life in Space and Encore.

New this year for weeks six and seven is Comm Camp at Hillside Park for campers in Level 4. Activities at Hillside will include boating, fishing, field games, hiking and outdoor sports. Drop off and pick up will be at Hillside Park on Winola Road in Clarks Summit.

The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day and is open for children from preschool to seventh grade with a special Counselor-In-Training program available for those entering grades eight through 10. Early arrival (8 to 9 a.m.), extended camp (1 to 3 p.m.) and extended afternoon camp (1 to 6 p.m.) are available, if desired. The staff to camper ratio is one to eight with a limit of up to 32 campers per level.

Campers may register by mail or in person at the Waverly Community House, 1115 N. Abington Road. Waverly. Advance registration is suggested as the camp fills quickly. To receive a camp brochure, call Kathy at the Comm office 570-586-8191, extension 2 or visit www.waverlycomm.org. Brochures are also available in the Comm lobby.
