REMINDERS

NAMI Mental Health Support Group, 6 to 7:30 p.m. the last Tuesday of each month at the Wyoming County Special Needs Association (the log cabin building), 636 Route 29 North, Tunkhannock. Open to people with mental health issues, as well as family members and caregivers.

CHILDREN’S & TEENS’ EVENTS

Annual Vacation Bible School, 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 9-13 at Countryside Community Church, 14011 Orchard Dr., Clarks Summit. The school is for children in third through sixth grade. A light supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. each night followed by classroom instruction, crafts, music, games, and lots of fun. The theme is “Shipwrecked… Rescued By Jesus. Trinity Lutheran Church Day Camps, “Out of This World” July 30-Aug. 3 and “Under the Sea” Aug. 13-17. Both will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, daily, at the church, 205 W. Grove St., Clarks Summit. Children ages 3-5 years-old are eligible to attend the camps. Cost: $150 per camp week, which includes three hours of daily play, crafts and activities revolving around a central theme each week. Equines for Freedom 3rd annual Wine Festival, noon to 5 p.m. June 30 at Lazybrook Park, Tunkhannock. Wineries will include Capra Collina, The Colony Meadery, Deep Roots Hard Cider, Hidden Creek Vineyard & Winery, Lucchi Family Wine Cellars, Maiolatesi Wine Cellars, Malacari Winery, Nimble Hill Winery & Brewing, Red Shale Ridge Winery, Sand Castle Winery, and Staggering Unicorn Winery. Food vendors will include Penalty Box BBQ, Haymaker’s Grill, Mad Mallard Farm, Pittston Popcorn, and Taste Time To Love Us. Popstar Drive will provide entertainment. Scranton City Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Genealogical Workshop, 10 a.m. Aug. 18 at the Catlin House, 232 Monroe Avenue, Scranton. Any woman, 18 years and older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible. The workshop will provide guidance and assistance with the application process, through the steps of becoming a member, including tracing your family lineage and identifying your Patriot. Rotary Club of the Abingtons Annual Fireworks show, July 3 at Abington Heights Middle School, Clarks Summit (rain date July 4). Food and amusement vendors will be open for business at 5 p.m. The fireworks show will begin at nightfall. Cost: $5 per vehicle. Please park in designated areas only. Trip to Venice, Florence, and Rome, July 10-17, 2019. The cost for the all-inclusive 8-day tour is $3,819 until May 1; $4119 after that date.Two days will be spent in each city.
