Abington Heights High School achieves four-star Healthy Champions status


Abington Heights Health and Physical Education Department Chairman Cleveland Elmy received notice from Penn State PRO Wellness that Abington Heights High School has obtained a four-star Healthy Champions status for the 2018-2019 school year. Abington Heights High School is among 32 percent of enrolled Pennsylvania schools to have achieved the status. Schools can obtain a maximum of five stars. Based on the Institute of Medicine’s recommendations for goals and strategies to prevent obesity, schools were awarded stars based on answers to questions in the following categories: community partnerships, nutrition and nutrition education, health promotion, physical education, and activity and employee wellness.
