Three receives degrees from Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG — Three Abington-area residents were awarded degrees from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in December 2018.

Kristen Finkler, of Factoryville, was awarded a degree in Accounting BSBA.

Sara Hicks, of Tunkhannock, was awarded a degree in Early Childhood (PK-4) BSEd.

Daniel Stevens, of Clarks Summit. was awarded a degree in Sec Ed*Biology BSEd & Biology.

Carey named to dean’s list

McKinley Carey, of South Abington Twp., has been named to the dean’s list at Millikin University for the fall 2018 semester.

Mackarey elected to post

SCRANTON — Amelia Mackarey, of Clarks Summit, a member of Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine’s (GCSOM) MD Class of 2020, was elected to the position of District III medical student assistant district representative for 2019, according to an American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section on Pediatric Trainees (SOPT) announcement.

Idec named to dean’s list

CANTON, NY — Eli H. Idec, of Tunkhannock, a member of the Class of 2022, and Grace M. Wetzel, of Factoryville, a member of the Class of 2019, have been selected for inclusion on the dean’s list for academic achievement during the fall 2018 semester at St. Lawrence University. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.
