Elizabeth Cooper named to Georgia College dean’s list

Nichole Spencer Named to dean’s list at Lebanon Valley College

ANNVILLE — Nichole Spencer, of South Abington Township, is one of more than 800 Lebanon Valley College students named to the dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester. Dean’s list students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0.

Spencer is pursuing a bachelor of science in communication sciences and disorders at The Valley. Spencer is a graduate of Abington Heights High School.

Frein named to President’s List at Gonzaga University

SPOKANE, Wash. — Kathleen Frein, of Scranton, has earned placement on the Gonzaga University President’s List for fall semester 2020. Students must earn a 3.85 to 4.0 grade-point average to be listed.

Emma Marion, of South Abington Township, named to Moravian College dean’s honors list for fall 2020.

BETHLEHEM — Emma Marion, of South Abington Township, was among the 798 students named to the dean’s honor list for the fall 2020 semester. Undergraduate students who carry three or more course units during the fall or spring term and attain a GPA for the term of 3.50 or higher are placed on the dean’s honor list.

East Stroudsburg University announces fall 2020 dean’s list

EAST STROUDSBURG — A total of 1,543 students have been named to the dean’s list at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the fall 2020 semester of the 2002-2021 academic year, according to Joanne Bruno, J.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Students eligible for the dean’s list are those who have attained a 3.50 quality point average or better and are enrolled full-time. The letter grade “B” earns 3 quality points per credit, and the grade “A” earns 4 quality points per credit.

Central Penn College student Matthew McLaughlin awarded scholarship

SUMMERDALE — Central Penn College student Matthew McLaughlin from Factoryville was awarded the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation Endowed Scholarship during the fall 2020 term. McLaughlin is studying Information Technology at the college, which is located in Summerdale, Pa.

During the fall 2020 term, 152 Central Penn College students were awarded $135,000 in scholarships by the Central Penn College Education Foundation.

“We are committed to making a difference in the lives of our students,” said Sandy Box, director of the Education Foundation. “These scholarships can be true game-changers. For many of our students, these awards can mean the difference between staying and finishing their degree or leaving due to financial concerns.”

During the 2019-2020 academic year, the Foundation awarded $243,000 to 288 Central Penn students. Students can apply for scholarships in August and February; awards are then given in the fall and spring terms, respectively.

Bloomsburg University announces fall 2020 dean’s list

Rachael Beemer named to dean’s list at Alvernia University

READING — Rachael Beemer, of Dalton, has been named to Alvernia University’s dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester. In the fall, Beemer studied Forensic Science at Alvernia.

Beemer was one of over 725 Alvernia students to earn the honor.

“Despite another challenging semester brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, Rachael and the rest of our students once against showed their ability to adapt and persevere,” said Alvernia University President John R. Loyack. “We look forward to welcoming back our students for another successful semester on our campuses.”

To be eligible for thedean’s list, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits.

Sivakumar named to University of Wisconsin-Madison dean’s list

MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Madison has recognized students named to the dean’s list for the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Pooja Sivakumar, of South Abington Township, College of Letters and Science, was among those named.

Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester. Each university school or college sets its own GPA requirements for students to be eligible to receive the distinction.
