WAVERLY — The Waverly Community House, 1115 N. Abington Road, will offer a week-long beginner Spanish language class for children ages seven to 12 with instructor Rebecca Petrini from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31.

Petrini’s class will introduce students to Spanish basics, including the alphabet, numbers, colors, meet and greet phrases, weather and more. Additionally, each session will incorporate a tidbit of information on Spanish/Latin American culture through hands on activities. A visual tour of the Galapagos Islands and crafts are also planned.

Students attending Comm Camp that week will be escorted to the Spanish class by a camp counselor.

Petrini, has a B.S. in international business and Spanish from the University of Scranton, where she graduated magna cum laude, and a M.A. in Spanish and Latin American studies from American University in Washington, D.C. She is a high school Spanish teacher with the Mid Valley School District.

The fee for the week is $65, which includes materials.
