DALTON — People at Platt Park waited for the horn blast to start the Dalton Lions Club Easter egg hunt on March 31. The hunt was preceded by a Breakfast with the Bunny at the Dalton Fire Hall, as well as a bake sale by the Dalton Ladies Auxiliary .
The egg hunt was held on the grounds of Dalton Fire Hall and across the street at Platt Park. Children and their parents looked on and under benches and near trees for plastic eggs filled with candy. Some participants opened the eggs as soon as they found them.
“The breakfast was well-intended,” said Robert Van Fleet, president of the Dalton Lions Club. “And we are considering keeping it for next year.”
“The Easter egg hunt will be held next year, “said Robert’s son Brett Van Fleet, also a member of the Dalton Lions Club.
