CLARKS SUMMIT — Equines For Freedom invites caregivers of veterans, including family and significant others, who provide care to veterans in need of continual care to the arena for its upcoming Veterans Caregivers Program. Join EFF for a free equine-assisted workshop May 5, 12, 19, Jun 2 and 9 at the Gary Johnson Arena, 2540 Port Royal Road.

The program consists of five sessions held on consecutive Saturdays lasting approximately 1-1/2 hours. Horses will be present for the workshop, but are not ridden, and no prior horse experience is needed.

In this group equine-assisted workshop, participants will work with a mental health professional, an equine specialist, and two to three horses. The program will address the concerns facing the caregivers of veterans. Focus will be based on group needs and will explore topics such as trust building, pathway of needs, coping skills, communication building, self care and boundaries.

Interested participants are asked to register for this event by calling 570-665-2483 or emailing eff@equinesforfreeedom.org.

Participants are requested to dress for a heated arena. The event will be held rain or shine and is 100 percent confidential.
