SCRANTON — The Leadership Lackawanna Core Program Class of 2016-17 will complete the following three service projects this year.
• Artists For ART (AFA) Gallery
Participants will help rebrand the AFA Gallery and create a marketing plan to assist AFA in bringing the arts to a wider audience. This plan will include the creation of a new membership brochure, updating the organization’s web presence and more. The participants will also help streamline AFA’s membership database and plan a meet-and-greet event for the community where the AFA’s new look will be unveiled.
•Friends of the Poor
Participants will help market the Friends of the Poor’s new Need a Ride? program, which provides free transportation to and from medical appointments to Carbondale residents who can safely ride in a minivan. The program will be marketed to potential drivers, health care professionals and potential clients. Leadership Lackawanna will also help create an electronic data gathering system that patients, drivers and healthcare providers can use to complete tasks like scheduling rides, tracking mileage and referring patients.
•St. Joseph’s Center
Participants will assist with marketing the center’s First Home Program, which helps mothers from Walsh Manor and Mother Infant Home when they move into permanent housing. Leadership Lackawanna will help create marketing materials and organize and implement a volunteer team campaign and create an inventory/collection system for the center, including a furniture collection event to help boost inventory.
