CLARKS SUMMIT — United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania (UNC) will host the fourth annual Farm to Fork dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 at Stone Meadow Gardens . The farm fresh, beautifully catered gourmet meal will be prepared by State Street Grill, using fresh food from local farmers who participate in UNC’s South Side Farmers Market.

Stone Meadow Gardens is the perfect backdrop for this lovely, nature-inspired event. The space boasts gorgeous terra cotta block interior walls in the brick barn, 1920s steelwork trusses in the reception patio, custom tree-inspired rebar railings, stone walls and patios overlooking native gardens.

Proceeds will support UNC’s Community Health Department, which helps low-income, at-risk individuals to access and navigate health care. The Community Health Department was formed in 2014 to improve the health and wellness of low-income individuals and families. It has since grown in staff size and services as it responds to the critical needs of those who have difficulty navigating today’s challenging health care system. The team is comprised of registered nurses, licensed social workers and public health professionals who provide the uninsured and underinsured with ongoing care management – medications, appointments, counseling, referrals and so much more. This past year alone, over 600 new participants were enrolled in the program.

Tickets are $100 per person and may be purchased by contacting Jill Eidenberg at 570-346-0759 x114 or online at www.uncnepa.org/farmtofork.

Major sponsors of the event include Grimm Construction, WNEP-TV, Lamar Advertising, Geisinger, PNC Bank, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Toyota of Scranton, AmeriHealth Caritas, Stone Meadow Gardens, and Marilake Winery.
