LA PLUME – Keystone College and the Factoryville community will come together to celebrate Christy Mathewson Day on Saturday, Aug. 11. This will be the 23nd consecutive year the two communities have celebrated the life and accomplishments of the Baseball Hall of Fame legend, Keystone graduate and Factoryville native.

Activities will feature several events, including the display of Christy Mathewson memorabilia, the annual Big 6 K Run/Walk, a community parade, and a special performance about the life and career of Christy Mathewson by actor Eddie Frierson.

Highlights of the day’s activities include:

7 a.m. – Registration for Christy Mathewson Big 6K and Kids Fun Run, Hibbard Campus Center, Keystone College

8a.m. — Fun Run

8:30 a.m. — 6K Run/Walk

9 a.m. – Breakfast, Hibbard Campus Center, Keystone College

1:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. — Christy Mathewson memorabilia display, Theatre in Brooks at Keystone College

12:30 p.m. – Creative and Performing Arts Academy baseball-themed performance, Theatre in Brooks, Keystone College

1 p.m. – “Matty” featuring actor Eddie Frierson , Theatre in Brooks, Keystone College

3:30 p.m. – Ice Cream Social, Theatre in Brooks, Keystone College

5 p.m. – Parade starts at Keystone College

6 p.m. — Parade ends at Factoryville Borough/Clinton Township Joint Municipal Park followed by food, refreshment, prizes, and games.
