Tailgate picnic set for Stpt. 16 at Countryside Conservancy

LA PLUMAE — Countryside Conservancy will hold its 24th annual Tailgate Picnic Sunday, Sept. 16 at its Little Rocky Glen Preserve, Lithia Valley Road, just off of Route 6 in Clinton Township, Wyoming County. The event starts at 3 p.m. and continues till dusk. Pack a picnic lunch along with a dish to share and drive on out to the Preserve to join in this great tradition.

The Mighty Optimistic String Band from Springville will provide live music and the Conservancy will set up an open-air grill to roast the best corn in the county, with s’mores for dessert. Explore the hiking trails of Little Rocky Glen or just kick back and enjoy the music and food.

Picnic admission is free to Conservancy members; for non-members the suggested donation is $10 per carload.

Countryside Conservancy is a non-profit land trust dedicated to protecting and connecting greenspace in and near the Tunkhannock Creek Watershed for public benefit now, and for future generations.

The Countryside Conservancy Tailgate Picnic has become a tradition for many.
