HARRISBURG – State Sen. John Blake (D-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Monroe) has been named to the Senate Democratic Caucus leadership team for the second consecutive legislative session.

Blake was again selected to serve in the role of Caucus Administrator which will allow him to work closely with Senate Minority Leader Jay Costa and the entire Senate Democratic leadership team to develop and communicate caucus legislative priorities and strategies.

“It has been a privilege to serve as a member of the Senate Democratic Caucus leadership team for two consecutive sessions and I am grateful for the continued support of Sen. Jay Costa and the entire caucus,” Blake said in a press release. “I will continue to work hard to be a voice of reason and to do all I can to add value to the discussions and the debates we hold while in Democratic caucus to ensure that our legislative priorities align with those of the people we represent.”

Blake was first selected to serve as Caucus Administrator for the 2017-2018 legislative session. He was also appointed to a leadership post in the 2015-2016 legislative session in the role of Democratic Vice-Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee.

“Senator Blake has provided enormous value to our caucus as its Administrator and his continued role on our leadership team is well-deserved,” Senate Minority Leader Jay Costa said in a press release. “We have a dynamic, passionate caucus and I know this leadership team will serve them well.”

Since taking office in 2011, Senator Blake has led the Senate Democratic Caucus in a number of key policy debates on local government; community and economic development; and pension reform. In the most recent legislative session, Blake served as the Minority Chair of both the Senate Finance and Senate Local Government Committees.

Blake has served the 255,000 residents of the 22nd Senatorial District in Lackawanna, Luzerne and Monroe Counties since 2011.
