SCRANTON — Downtown Scranton is brimming with holiday spirit and activities thanks to the efforts of community-minded business leaders.

Under the direction of Scranton Tomorrow, Downtown Scranton holiday activities are made possible through the support of generous sponsors, including Hospice of the Sacred Heart, The Times-Tribune, The Marketplace at Steamtown, and The Daisy Collective. Contributing sponsors include Scranton Public Market, Electric City Escape, RD BlowDry Bar and Salon and Salon a Go Go.

Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Lunch Local promotions brought much joy to the Downtown Scranton Business District, and there are still plenty of opportunities for shopping, dining and holiday fun for people of all ages, including:

* Holiday Window Decorating Showcase — The annual Holiday Window Decorating Showcase will be held in more than 50 venues throughout downtown Scranton, Friday, Dec. 7 through Friday, Jan. 4, 2019. A secret panel of judges will award prizes to the most Scrantastic, nostalgic, whimsical, traditional, festive, dreamy and elegant window designs. * Scranton Tomorrow Holiday Hunt presented by Electric City Escape —Enjoy a holiday-themed scavenger hunt in downtown Scranton, Friday, Dec. 7 through Friday, Jan. 4, 2019. Starting at Electric City Escape, 507 Linden St., downtown Scranton, participants solve text message clues in a race through the Downtown Scranton Business District. * Holiday Display at the former Globe Store: As part of the Lackawanna Winter Market hosted by Lackawanna County, Scranton Tomorrow and the Junior League of Scranton created a special display in the windows of one of Scranton’s most famous retailers from the past: The Globe Store, at 123 Wyoming Ave..
