You’re running around like crazy trying to figure out what you will possibly wear. You have something in mind but when you look for it you can’t find that one piece and then viola your room is a mess. You decide on something else and low and behold it’s wrinkled and you don’t have the time to steam or iron it.

After you had a great weekend and felt really good with what you wore this is not a way to start off your week, and it is often this endless feeling that gets people into style ruts.

Today, I am going to give you a few fashion hacks to get you out the door quicker in the morning:

1. Treat planning your outfits like a meal plan: Just like you would get all of your meals together for the week you should check the weather ahead and plan out outfits for each day of the week. If it is calling for rain or snow plan accordingly. Even if you decide on Wednesday you don’t want to wear what you chose you have a base to go off of and it makes the process much easier.

If you have kids I always recommend repurposing a shoe organizer with the days of the week and keeping their outfits set for each day.

2. Layer your outfits on a hanger: The night before layer all of your pieces together. Your pants, top, blazer and necklace can all stay together so all you have to do is put it on!

3. Pre-tie your neck ties: The guys always love this one because why not have it set and ready to go ahead of time? One less thing to do and it has you more prepared.

4. Place ice cubes in the dryer to steam wrinkles out of your clothes: Nothing worse then grabbing the perfect piece and it’s full of wrinkles. When you are short on time this is the perfect hack. The dryers heat releases moisture from the ice cubes which essentially loosens up the wrinkles. No need to shower steam your clothes.

5. Stretch out your tight shoes by placing a bag of water in each and leaving them in the freezer overnight: I am often told that sometimes people can’t figure out what to wear because once they go to put on shoes they can’t find the right pair and when you know you have the pair of shoes that complete the outfit the last thing you want is the pair to be too tight. This hack will help stretch out your shoes to keep you comfy.

6. Track what you are wearing with the hanger or ribbon tricks: Start tracking what you are actually wearing so that way you can clear the clutter of what is taking up space. Every time you wear something flip the hanger over so you can get an idea when you look at your closet of what you aren’t wearing. When hangers haven’t been flipped you know you haven’t worn those pieces.

If the thought of backward hangers makes you crazy then you can simply add a ribbon in the middle of your closet and have a side for the pieces you wore and a side that you haven’t worn.

Have more fun with streamlined mornings!
