SCRANTON — Plans are underway for the first-ever Lackawanna County Heritage Fair. The fair board is seeking sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, heritage, civic and charitable organizations and local churches to become participants in the upcoming heritage fair expected to open on Wednesday, May 29 and continue through Sunday, June 2 at Montage Mountain Resort.

“We are seeking all types of civic, charitable and heritage organizations and performance artists to participate in the upcoming fair. We have chosen the theme ‘heritage of the area’ to showcase the different cultures of Northeastern PA, and their contribution to our economic and their social development” stated Armand Olivetti, chairman of the inaugural fair. “This is a great opportunity for local churches, civic and heritage organizations to feature their heritage, culture and ethnic foods, and their contributions to the history of Lackawanna County and Northeastern, PA.”

The inaugural fair will consist of a midway with several ride attractions, entertainment, local vendors, exhibitors, heritage and civic organizations, and churches providing ethnic foods from around Lackawanna County. The ticket price will also include parking and access to Montage Mountain Resort’s water park.

Spaces will be available for crafts, business and food vendors on a first-come/first-served basis.
