SCRANTON — Registered Republicans and Democrats will head to the polls Tuesday, May 21 to vote in their party’s primary.

The League of Women Voters of Lackawanna County (LWVLC) and cosponsor, the Political Science Department, The University of Scranton, have scheduled candidate debates at the Moskovitz Theater, fourth floor, DeNaples Campus Center, Mulberry Street, for the following primaries:

Scranton City Council – Democratic Primary

Wednesday, May 8

6 p.m.

At the start of this event, attendees will have the opportunity to hear candidates for Scranton School Board Director introduce themselves

Lackawanna County Commissioner – Republican Primary

Thursday, May 9

6 p.m.

Lackawanna County Commissioner – Democratic Primary

Thursday, May 9

7:15 p.m.

All debates are open to the public.

In addition, the public should look for and view videotaped interviews of the candidates for Scranton School Board and Lackawanna County Controller. Find taped program as of May 13 at www.lwvlackawanna.org.
