S. ABINGTON Twp. — Each year the Catherine McAuley Center recognizes a woman who exemplifies the Mercy spirit of compassion and service as the Woman of the Year at the annual Swing for Mercy Golf Tournament. The golf committee takes great pride in announcing Anne Paone Gallagher as the 2019 Mercy Woman of the Year.

A resident of South Abington Township, Gallagher has worked on the management side of the health care field for the past 34 years. She is currently employed by Coordinated Health as the Vice President of Ambulatory Care, Northeast Region. This year Coordinated Health has committed to serving as the presenting sponsor of the Swing for Mercy Golf Tournament.

The 2019 golf tournament will take place on Monday, June 17 at the Wyoming Valley Country Club in Wilkes-Barre. All funds raised will directly benefit a local nonprofit organization, the Catherine McAuley Center. Since 1984, the center has responded to the needs of homeless women and children in our region by providing housing and supportive services.

As a member of the Catherine McAuley Center Board of Directors, Gallagher has been a generous supporter and strong advocate for the center’s work with homeless families.

“Anne embodies the spirit of mercy and brings such a positive energy to the board of directors at the Catherine McAuley Center,” said Executive Director Krista Somers. “She has been an integral part of shaping the future of the center and keeping the women and children we serve at the heart of every decision. We are honored to celebrate Anne as the 2019 Mercy Woman is the Year.”

There are many ways to both honor Anne Paone Gallagher and support the Catherine McAuley Center as a sponsor, golfer, donor, or dinner attendee.
