Steve Jervis will have five players from his championship Lackawanna Trail team on the City roster when he coaches against the County July 20 in the Dream Game.

The Scranton Lions Club-sponsored game, presented by Northeast Rehab, features graduated players from the Lackawanna Football Conference. It will be played at Valley View’s John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium in Peckville with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

Abington Heights will have two players on the County team.

Scranton Prep, the LFC Division 2 and District 2 Class 3A champion, has the most players on the City roster with eight.

Much of the City line could be built around the Cavaliers. Two-way linemen Jimmy Burke, Adam Kenny, Christian Kohut and Drew O’Malley represent Scranton Prep, along with two-way ends Donovan Williams and Andrew Durkin, wide receiver/defensive back Robert Rossi and fullback/linebacker Michael Golay.

The City also has five players who helped Lackawanna Trail win the District 2 Class 2A championship. Two-way lineman R.J. Schirg will be playing in his second all-star game after playing for the East in the Pennsylvania High School Football Coaches Association Small School East-West game.

Cole Choplosky, another two-way lineman, was selected for the Dream Game along with running back/linebacker Cody Cresswell; quarterback/defensive back Owen Lisk and tight end/defensive end Miles Edwards.

The City also draws players from Dunmore, Holy Cross, North Pocono, Scranton, Susquehanna, Wallenpaupack and West Scranton.

The County, coached by Delaware Valley’s Keith Olsommer, has nine players from Valley View and six from Olsommer’s Warriors. Along with players from those two championship teams, the County also has four from Lakeland three from Old Forge, two more teams that won titles.

Abington Heights is represented by two-way lineman Christian Lezinski and fullback/linebacker Nick Deremer.

The rest of the County roster includes players from Carbondale, Honesdale, Mid Valley, Riverside and Western Wayne.

At halftime of the Dream Game, the Scranton Lions Club will honor former Lackawanna Trail and Lakeland coach Jeff Wasilchak as its Man of the Year.
