After Hal Pratt’s charming Leprechaun Lore program on St. Patrick’s Day at the Dietrich, children had some very serious questions to ask him.

One little girl wanted to know, “Are there girl leprechauns?”

Hal replied that none have been recorded, but maybe they are just too smart to be seen.

Another child asked, “Do leprechauns ride on rainbows?”

Hal replied that he doesn’t think so, but maybe they do and no one has been lucky enough to see it.

Speaking of children, we know our preschool classes make a difference in the lives of our children, teaching art and music the way they should be taught. They are not taught to produce a certain product a certain way. Instead, they are taught to experience the creative process, each child encouraged to discover his or her own unique expression.

What we recently heard expressed by a parent, a young father, is that our teachers are also wonderful role models for good parenting.

“By attending art and nature classes with my son, I have learned how to be a better parent,” he said.

He remarked that our teachers help teach him how to be more patient, a quality all parents need.

We are so proud of our preschool teachers, including Abi Zieger, Amy and Steve Colley and Rebecca Lesko.
