Lackawanna Trail coach Steve Jervis has been selected as one of the head coaches for the 88th annual Dream Game, the Scranton Lions Club-sponsored all-star game for recent Lackawanna Football Conference graduates, which is scheduled for July 20 at Valley View’s John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Jervis will coach the City team after previously serving as head coach of the County.
Lackawanna Trail and Delaware Valley traded spots when the Scranton Lions Club sought to reset the balance between the programs making up the City and County rosters five years ago.
Now, the coaches of the two programs will square off from opposite sites.
Keith Olsommer from Delaware Valley, who previously coached the City, will be head coach of the County.
Both Olsommer, a former Penn State tight end and North Pocono all-stater, and Jervis have more than 100 career coaching victories.
Jervis started his coaching career at Tunkhannock, where he had played quarterback, and is now approaching 100 wins for his time at Lackawanna Trail. He led the Lions to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association state Class A semifinal in 2018 and back to the state semifinals in 2019.
Lackawanna Trail won the District 2 Class 2A championship last season when Delaware Valley won its sixth straight District 2 Class 6A title.
Abington Heights graduates will be part of the County team.
